| The text of this Illuminated Manuscript comprises quotations from the notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci. I have divided them into four groups, under the headings of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, which were once considered to be the Four Elements. The overall shape is suggestive of a polyhedron, as that particular shape was thought to have magical powers during the Renaissance. |
